The 2025 Life Chain is Sunday, Oct. 5, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on O Street, 19th-84th

The Purpose of Life Chain

The Life Chain is a prayer service held annually on the first Sunday in October. Upon arrival, warmly greet your fellow Chainers and then begin to pray. Please Do Not Talk. Let us pray and meditate continually, with eyes closed some of the time (if not watching small children). Let us feel free to kneel and pray (please do not lie down). We focus on our need for God’s divine intervention.

As we join hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans and Canadians in prayer, let each of trust wholly in our Lord and not in ourselves or in our numbers.

We trust only in God to end the Abortion Holocaust now affecting our nation. May God intervene with power and mercy. May He forgive our past indifference and shallow commitment. May His Church rise up united against abortion’s horrors. And may He equip us with divine strategy to end the unconscionable murder of preborn children in our nation.

Life Chain

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

2 CHRONICLES 7:14

Life Chain Code of Conduct

Let us enter the Life Chain in a prayerful Spirit. Life Chain is not a rally or celebration. We stand against a holocaust, holding signs that say “Abortion Kills Children,” and our spirit and countenance should bear witness to this fact. Let us also express as best we can, the love and forgiveness found in our Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for standing up for Life, for defending the “weak and the fatherless,” and for maintaining a prayerful spirit. Please do not dwell on the traffic. It will take care of itself.

Let’s be humble yet bold:

In our obedience to God, recognizing our stand is for the children, their mothers and other relatives, and for our nation’s preservation.

In the spirit of Christian love:

Let’s commit to be peaceful, prayerful and polite in both word and deed. Any misconduct from passerby should be meet with silence and a kind smile to express our inner peace and forgiveness.

To acknowledge motorists:

Who support our Life Chain, kindly respond with a friendly facial expression and not with a verbal or animated response. Our sincerity will be a powerful witness, in keeping with our signs. Prayer with eyes closed is the best response.

Topics for Continued Prayer

  • Pray a personal prayer of repentance for the past failure to actively oppose abortion and aid its victims.

  • Pray that motorists who witness our Life Chain will have receptive hearts and minds.

  • Pray for protection of preborn children and their moms.

  • Pray God’s grace and healing on mothers who have had abortions, pray for local pregnancy centers and other pro-life healing and support ministries.

  • Pray God’s sovereignty against abortionists, pray for their eyes to be opened to their murdering of children.

  • Pray for the convicting impact of hundreds of Life Chains across America and Canada today, and pray for the safety and commitment of each participant.

  • Pray for love and unity among us, God’s people, and pray that we and our fellow believers will submit to God’s will for our lives, our families and our nation.

  • Pray that God will direct a profound spiritual awakening in our local community and throughout our land.

  • Pray for godly wisdom in our government and courts; pray that God will strengthen and aid pro-life officials.

  • Ask God how you can best help end abortion in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
